Course Overview

This webinar is designed to equip employers, HR professionals, and payroll administrators with the latest knowledge and insights into the changes and updates in the payroll tax landscape for the upcoming year. Much of our time is spent on Form W-4, from both an employee and an employer’s side. We cover other payroll topics, including recent legislation, form changes, and the employee retention credit.

The payroll professional will be prepared by this webinar to comprehend the modifications to the form W-4 for 2023 and to review the most recent W-4 Form release. Prior to the modifications, the Form W-4—which all businesses are required to receive from employees—had unique processing requirements.  The processing of Form W-4 and how they should be handled will be reviewed in terms of IRS-specific laws. This webinar will examine the changes that 2023 has brought about so far.

Key Areas –

·         Form W-4: Stay up to date with the latest updates and changes to the Form W-4, which plays a crucial role in determining federal income tax withholding. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the revised form and its impact on payroll processing.

·         Recent Payroll Legislation: Explore the key legislative changes and updates that will affect payroll processing in 2023. Understand the implications of new laws, such as tax rate adjustments, changes to tax brackets, and updates to various payroll tax limits. We will also cover form changes to W-2s and 1099s in this segment.

·         Employee Retention Credit: this is a payroll-related credit and there's still time to claim it if you haven't already, but employers must be careful of taking aggressive positions and claiming the credit when they don't qualify.

·         Various Payroll Topics: Research and Development Credit, dealing with reimbursements to employees and other topics as time allows.
